MIDDLE EAST VALUE CHAIN OPTIMIZATION IMPLEMENTATION
A large integrated oil company with three Middle Eastern refineries struggled with optimizing its crude purchases and product sales. Our team worked closely with client professionals to develop a hydrocarbon value chain strategy, implement key value chain business processes, and create and stand up a value chain optimization group. We also led the change management needed to adopt and implement new business processes and technologies. The client benefited from a $15+ million annual improvement in operating margin.
VALUE CHAIN AND HYDROCARBON ACCOUNTING DIAGNOSTIC AND BEST PRACTICES
A large refiner needed an independent review of its hydrocarbon accounting practices as it changed ownership. Our team reviewed its current hydrocarbon accounting practices and advised on best practices in this area. Our analysis then helped the client see how to better control its hydrocarbon value chain from the wellhead to the wholesale distribution network. The client used the results of this work to redesign its value chain hydrocarbon accounting business processes and initiate a major value chain optimization effort, all within compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
EUROPEAN VALUE CHAIN OPTIMIZATION
A European integrated oil company needed help managing its downstream operations and product flows. We redesigned all aspects of the client’s petroleum value chain from the crude oil acquisition through refining to the retail market. Our team identified specific steps to improve regional planning and scheduling activities for its multi-refinery system, and we helped it define and forecast demand requirements for its key wholesale markets. The results of the work yielded $10+ million in annual margin improvements.
